Quotes

Put a price in front of someone, let them accept it on their phone, and keep a tamper-evident record of what they agreed to.

Overview

Quotes gives you:

Build a quote

Open Quotes and choose New quote. Pick the contact it is for, give it a title the customer will recognise, and set an expiry date if the price should not stand forever.

Lines and totals

Add a line per thing you are charging for. Each line takes a description, a quantity and a unit price; the total is worked out as you type. If you sell the same things repeatedly, add them to Products first and pull them in rather than retyping.

Currency follows your workspace's regional settings, so you do not set it per quote.

Send it

Choose Send. The customer gets a link to a page showing the quote in your branding. The quote moves to Sent and can no longer be edited - if the price needs to change, send a new one.

How the customer accepts

They open the link, read the quote and choose Accept or Decline. No account, no password. If you asked for a signature they type or draw it first.

An expired quote shows as expired and cannot be accepted, so an old price never comes back to bite you.

The signed record

When someone accepts, we take a fingerprint of the quote as it stood at that moment - the lines, the totals and the terms. If the quote is altered afterwards, the fingerprint no longer matches and the record says so.

That is what makes the acceptance meaningful: you can show what was agreed, not just that something was agreed.

After it is accepted

An accepted quote shows on the contact's timeline and counts towards your acceptance rate on the Reporting page. Turn it into money with Invoicing or a payment link.
