Domains

Buy a domain like yourcompany.com, or connect one you already own, then use it for your website and your email.

What this is

Everything lives in Marketplace → Domains. Search for a new domain and buy it in a couple of clicks, or connect one you already have with another provider. Once a domain is in your workspace, Website Builder, email sending, SEO and your widgets can all use it.

Buy a domain

1. Open Marketplace → Domains and type the name you want.
2. Pick one of the available results. Each shows the first-year price and what it costs to renew each year after.
3. Fill in the owner's details. Domain registries require a real person's name and address, and they may email the owner to confirm it. Buying for a business? Put your own name as the owner and the business in Company.
4. Pay. The domain is usually ready within a minute.

If a registration fails for any reason, you are refunded in full automatically. Once a domain is registered it cannot be refunded.

Left the payment page without paying? You have not been charged and nothing is registered. The order shows as Not paid: buy the domain again whenever you are ready, or press Cancel order.

Connect a domain you own

1. Open Marketplace → Domains and choose Connect a domain you own.
2. Enter the domain. We show you one TXT record.
3. Add that record where your domain is managed (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap and so on).
4. Press Check now. DNS changes can take a few minutes; we also keep checking in the background and let you know when it is connected.

This only proves the domain is yours. It does not change your website or email.

Use it for your website

In Website Builder, open your site's Domains tab and choose one of your domains, as the main address (yourcompany.com), with www, or as a subdomain such as shop.yourcompany.com. If you bought the domain here, the records are added for you and the site goes live without you touching DNS. You can still type any other domain you own, exactly as before.

Send email from it

In Marketplace → Connections → Email sending, add a sending address on your domain. If you use Resend or SendGrid, press Set up DNS for me and we add the records your provider needs. For other providers, add the records they show you.

DNS records

For domains bought here, open the domain and choose DNS records to add or remove records. Records used by your website or email show a lock, because removing them would break that service.

Using Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for your inbox? Press Google Workspace mail or Microsoft 365 mail and the mail records are added in one step.

For domains connected from another provider, the page lists the records to add there and shows whether each one has been found.

Renewal

Domains bought here renew automatically each year. We remind you 30, 14, 7 and 1 days before, and charge your saved card two weeks before the renewal date. If the payment does not go through, we try again and you can press Renew now on the domain's Renewal tab at any time. Turn automatic renewal off there if you want the domain to expire.

Moving a domain

To another provider: open the domain, then Renewal → Transfer out. We unlock it and give you a transfer code for your new provider. For UK domains, enter the tag your new provider gives you instead. Domain rules block transfers for 60 days after a domain is bought or moved.

Into SoftSolz: choose Transfer a domain in, enter the transfer code from your current provider, and pay for one extra year, which is added to the domain's expiry. Your current provider then has up to 5 days to release it.

UK domains (.uk, .co.uk) move by tag instead of a code. Pay first, then ask your current provider to change the domain's tag to REGISTRAR-EU. It finishes within a few hours of that. Do it in that order: a tag changed before the transfer is set up is refused, and cannot be changed again for 5 days.

Who can do what

Owners and admins have all three. You can give them to other roles in Members & Access → Roles.
